パッチ情報からたどれる内容によるとセキュリティ関連でSecurityとCriticalに分類されています。
Securityの方は、curlコマンド、3.5や4.0からアップデートしたときのSFCB認証の取り扱い、SSL関連、その他もろもろ。Criticalの方は、非英語Windowsをゲストで使っているときにスナップショットが失敗することがある件や、VMware Paravirtual SCSIの仮想ディスクにインストールするときWindows Server 2003でエラーが出る件などなどです。
自分はパッチをダウンロードしてこの日の方法でアップデート。以下のような感じです。

いままで2個のパッチを入れていましたが、それに上書きされる形で今回のUpdate 1が適用されています。ビルドバージョンは4.1.0,348481。VMware Toolsのアップデートがありますので、個々の仮想マシンに適用する必要がありちょっと面倒ですけど、うちの環境では特に問題なくアップデートできました。あとはvCenter Server 4.1の方を明日にでも適用しようと思います。
